Sleep-Safe Several-Use Non-Woven Disposable Pillow Cases

These pillow cases can each be used a number of times to reduce the frequency of laundering of Sleep-Safe pillows if dribbling, excessive salivation or skin shedding is a problem, or in respite settings where caring for successive short-term users demands frequent bedding changes. The cases are made from soft, flame retardant non-woven material which is comfortable and hygienic, and laboratory tests have demonstrated negligible effect on the anti-suffocation properties of Sleep-Safe pillows

The Emfit Epileptic Tonic-Clonic Seizure Monitor is designed for monitoring and
detecting seizures with muscle jerking of a sleeping person with epilepsy. Patented sensor
technology detects when a person has continued abnormal movements over a pre-set mount
of time, and triggers a notification.
It can also give notification when a person leaves the bed and there are no more
micromovements, such as those caused by a person's breathing or heart beating.
This can be especially useful for those who have a tendency to wander.
The seizure monitor consists of a film-like bed sensor and a control unit. The dynamic sensor
pad is placed under the mattress and detects even the slightest movements of the person
lying above it, including micromovements caused by breathing and heart beating.
When a person has faster and longer continued movements than pre-set thresholds,
the notification is triggered. The system can also notice light movements,
making it suitable for small children.
The controller features a built in alarm with adjustable volume. It can also interface
with other systems and calls can be sent to various accessories such as pagers or
even to a nurse call system installed within a hospital or care home. The monitor can
be placed next to the bed or mounted on the wall using the included fastening bracket

What is an oximeter used for?
A pulse oximeter is a device intended for the non-invasive measurement of arterial blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate. Oximeters are widely used in hospitals, medical clinics, operating rooms, and homes. Both oxygen saturation level and pulse rate are vital signs of a patien

How to measure oxygen levels?
Quick Answer. A normal oxygen level is 95 to 100 percent oxygen, as measured by pulse oximetry, says the Mayo Clinic. A pulse oximeter is a small device which clips on a finger and measures oxygen saturation in the blood, a measurement which is usually considered to be the equivalent of blood oxygen levels.

What is a normal pulse ox reading?
A: According to the Mayo Clinic, a normal pulse ox reading is between 95 and 100 percent. The pulse ox reading tells of the saturation of oxygen in a person's blood. The reading is taken with a pulse oximeter, a device which is placed on a person's finger.

The new Sunflower Lanyard Scheme
Assisting adults and children with hidden disabilities
The Sunflower Lanyard Scheme® was originally created to act as a discreet sign to staff and work colleagues that the wearer (or somebody who is with them) has a hidden disability and requires additional assistance.
The Sunflower Lanyard Scheme® was first launched at Gatwick Airport in May 2016. It has now been adopted in the UK by most of the major airport, supermarket and railway companies, as well as in the NHS. Each day, many more organisations are joining the scheme and it is also starting to be known globally. With this increased awareness, Sunflower Lanyard wearers benefit more widely from help being offered to make their daily living a little easier.
How can wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower benefit you?
Wearing the Sunflower Lanyard indicates to people around you that help may be required, and that help may be different for each person. You can use the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to tell people about the type of assistance you need – it may be as simple as a little more time. There is no qualifying list to being able to access a lanyard as we do not exclude people who have yet to be diagnosed and whose daily life is made more challenging by their hidden disability. If you feel that you are unable to have a conversation with a member of staff due to your condition, perhaps consider writing down the type of help you might need so that you can hand it to them

Why do we loan and not give .

We believe that from studies at EpilepsySussex that people with epilepsy do not necessarily need equipment on a long term basis, often things like bed monitors and CCTV equipment are needed as a diagnostic tool to find out if the person is having nocturnal seizures if they are not then the equipment does not need to be there if this is the case something like an anti suffocation pillow would suffice and this equipment could benefit another person in the diagnosis of nocturnal seizures. As this equipment can last for years we can use it to benefit more than one person. We loan our equipment as a diagnostic tool there are other charities that specialize in providing equipment for you to keep. who we can recommend.

Prior to any application, the applicant must have been a closed group member for a minimum of three months, This is to minimise exploitation.
